The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dejong swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dejong throws a hook to the side of Harris's head but Harris sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A big left from Dejong misses.
Gert Jan Dejong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harris checks a leg kick nicely.
Dejong blocks a leg kick.
Dejong tries to bum rush Harris with a series of wild strikes but Harris uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dejong throws a hook but Harris avoids it easily.
Harris avoids a punch combination nicely.

A telegraphed right hand from Dejong misses the target.
Dejong throws a jab when Harris was well out of range.

Dejong decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Harris is pressing down on Dejong's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Harris thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Dejong wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.

Harris looking for a guillotine here but Dejong defends easily.
Dejong has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Harris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dejong keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Dejong is defending against the submission attempts here by Harris.

Harris is working for a kimura but Dejong is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harris uses his free foot to push down on Dejong's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dejong.
Harris throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Harris misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harris is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Dejong is forced to tap! Great finish!
