The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hartman fails in his attempt to clinch.

Hartman is trying to control the position but Rua postures up.

Hartman manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Rua has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hartman is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hartman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rua bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hartman's guard.
