Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rony Jaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dr Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox dives in and grabs Jaa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jaa pushes down on Cox's head and hops out.

Cox rushes Jaa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jaa using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cox has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cox dodges an elbow strike from Jaa.
Cox has had enough of the clinch but Jaa keeps him there for the moment.
Jaa swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Jaa connects with a knee to the head.

It looks like Dr Cox has been cut.
Jaa lands a right hand.
Jaa throws a knee to the head but misses.
Cox is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Cox wants a takedown.
Rony Jaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dr Cox.

Cox tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jaa scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Jaa with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Jaa lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cox backwards.

Jaa is pressed up against the cage. Cox has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jaa down to the mat. Jaa avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jaa wants to clinch up but Cox keeps it at a distance.
Jaa tries to clinch there but Cox circles away.
Jaa throws a head kick but Cox moves out of range.

Jaa connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

and Cox counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Jaa lands a big head kick that sends Cox tumbling to the mat! Jaa takes a step backwards and waves Cox back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Cox is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
