Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tunturi Pony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kivi Kasvo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tunturi Pony!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kivi Kasvo!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pony closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kasvo circles away.
Kasvo closes the distance looking to clinch
and Pony cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pony misses with a shot to the body

and Kasvo counters with a nice right hand that sends Pony toppling to the canvas! Pony scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kasvo finish him?!


It looks like Tunturi Pony has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kasvo closes the distance looking to clinch

so Pony counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pony is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Pony wants to control from the top but Kasvo keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pony trying to move into half guard but instead Kasvo has managed to sweep!
Kasvo throwing strikes but missing.

Pony kicks Kasvo off and gets to his feet.
Pony takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pony looks for a takedown but Kasvo sprawls well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kasvo tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Pony counters with a takedown into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pony lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
An elbow from Pony crashes against the mat.
Pony fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Pony working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Kasvo is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Kasvo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pony. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tunturi Pony will probably get the nod.

It looks like Kivi Kasvo has been cut.
Kasvo wants to clinch

so Pony counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Pony throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kasvo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Pony has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pony wants to control from the top but Kasvo keeps moving.
Pony throwing strikes from guard but Kasvo blocks nicely.
Kasvo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pony loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Pony working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kasvo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Pony trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pony landing with the ground and pound.
Pony throws and elbow that misses. Kasvo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pony's guard. Nice move by Kasvo!

Kasvo trying to control but Pony is working from the bottom.
Pony bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kasvo's guard.
Pony thows a big elbow that misses.
Pony throws a strike but Kasvo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pony utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pony avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kasvo wants to get up but he can't break Pony's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kasvo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kasvo gets to his feet. Pony looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kasvo tries to clinch
and Pony counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kasvo thinking.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kasvo closes the distance looking to clinch
and Pony connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tunturi Pony dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Kasvo throws a head kick that misses.
Pony looks for a takedown but Kasvo sprawls well.

Kasvo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pony to score an easy takedown into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kasvo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pony.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pony accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Pony has gone for a leg lock! Kasvo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pony's guard.
Kasvo trying to control the position from guard on top but Pony is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kasvo with a flurry of punches that miss.
Pony wants to sweep here but Kasvo controlling him for the moment.
Kasvo throws and elbow that misses. Pony uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kasvo's guard. Nice move by Pony!

Pony working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pony looking to pass the guard.
Kasvo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pony is standing up over Kasvo. Kasvo looks to escape but Pony dives into side control.

Pony tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pony has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Pony wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kasvo keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pony throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Kivi Kasvo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pony in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kasvo wants to get back to his feet but Pony drags him back down.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tunturi Pony showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Pony has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
