Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Lauzon. No joy for The Dude on that attempt.
Lauzon looks to score with a jab to the body but The Dude is just out of range.
The Dude slips a jab and a cross from Lauzon.
Lauzon throws a big shot that misses.

The Dude drives through with a takedown into Lauzon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Lauzon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but The Dude can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as The Dude accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The Dude seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The Dude stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lauzon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jeffrey The Dude just wasn't active enough.
The Dude throws an overhand right that lands on Lauzon's shoulder, as Lauzon tries to avoid the shot.

and The Dude counters with a nice uppercut.

The Dude fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lauzon, pushing him back against the cage.

Lauzon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Lauzon throws a right hand that The Dude ducks under and follows up with a left that The Dude also avoids with ease.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts The Dude, as that shot connected.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lauzon's corner calls for a 1-2. Lauzon obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

enabling Lauzon to counter with a crisp jab.

The Dude scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The Dude is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Dude wants to pass to mount but Lauzon is defending the position.
The Dude passes to side control.
Lauzon regains half guard.

Lauzon keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Well, if The Dude is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Lauzon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lauzon is not content to let The Dude control the position.
The Dude throwing shots but Lauzon is blocking nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The Dude is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lauzon defends it well.
Lauzon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of The Dude's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take The Dude's back!

Lauzon has decided that he can't make progress quickly enough from the back position and has rather unusually decided to stand up from the dominant position. Obviously he's going to be looking for the knockout on the feet here!
The Dude takes a swing at Lauzon's ribcage but misses.
The Dude shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lauzon as he jumps to the side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Lauzon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The Dude breaks Lauzon's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The Dude is fighting to break Lauzon's control of his arms but Lauzon is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lauzon is looking to stand up but The Dude won't let him.
Lauzon wants to stand and escape but instead The Dude has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Lauzon controls The Dude momentarily but The Dude frees himself.

Lauzon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The Dude pushes down on Lauzon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lauzon is trying to get back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lauzon is trying to control but The Dude manages to pass to mount!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
