PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rolf Spicer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gin Ichimaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ichimaru is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sekai wa Sude ni Azamuki no Ue ni (The World Already Exists Upon Deceit). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spicer swinging wilding here.
Spicer is looking to clinch but Ichimaru is avoiding it.
Spicer tries to close the distance and clinch but Ichimaru swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ichimaru shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spicer as he jumps to the side.
Spicer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ichimaru closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Spicer's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Ichimaru is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
