Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mad Dog Vachon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lars De Groot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vachon comes to the cage accompanied by Gros jambon. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Groot lands a head kick!
Vachon dives in and grabs De Groot's left leg, looking for a takedown. De Groot pushes down on Vachon's head and hops out.
De Groot misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
De Groot avoids a kick to the body.
De Groot throws a nice head kick!
Vachon misses with a takedown attempt - De Groot sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
De Groot throws a head kick but Vachon moves out of range.

De Groot misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Vachon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vachon walks into a straight right hand from De Groot.

De Groot escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
De Groot will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

De Groot throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vachon shoots in for a double leg but De Groot sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Vachon looks to score with a jab to the body but De Groot is just out of range.

De Groot lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Vachon or not.

De Groot pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
De Groot throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vachon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lars De Groot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vachon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts De Groot as he jumps to the side.

A left and a right from De Groot both land. Nice combination.
Vachon shoots in looking for a takedown. De Groot tries to sprawl out of it but Vachon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. De Groot manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
De Groot misses with a jab, cross combination.

Lars De Groot dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

De Groot scores with a hook to the body. Vachon takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
De Groot throws a right hand that Vachon ducks under and follows up with a left that Vachon also avoids with ease.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from De Groot, right into the meat.
Vachon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but De Groot avoids it really well and circles away.
De Groot wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

De Groot feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Vachons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Vachon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
De Groot closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Vachon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but De Groot swivels and escapes.

De Groot misses with the combination.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Vachon. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
De Groot fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vachon.
Vachon throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
De Groot avoids a kick to the body.
De Groot lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vachon circles away quickly and effectively.

De Groot looks to land a combination but Vachon avoids it well.

De Groot rushes Vachon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vachon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
De Groot slowing the pace effectively.
Vachon prevents a body shot from De Groot.

De Groot escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
De Groot misses with a head kick.
Mad Dog Vachon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
De Groot throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Vachon counters with an inside leg kick.
Horrible takedown by Vachon or perhaps it was just good defense by De Groot which made him look bad.

A solid leg kick lands there for De Groot.
Vachon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with De Groot but De Groot pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vachon slips a jab and a cross from De Groot.

Vachon clinches up with De Groot and pushes him back against the cage.

Lars De Groot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

De Groot rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vachon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Vachon shoots in but no luck this time.
Vachon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Vachon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Vachon.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if De Groot can do anything to dispel that myth.

Vachon has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

De Groot misses with a head kick.
Lars De Groot is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
De Groot feints and then cracks Vachon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vachon down.
Vachon on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Mad Dog Vachon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
De Groot tries to bum rush Vachon with a series of wild strikes but Vachon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Vachon is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
De Groot lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Vachon tries to close the distance and clinch up but De Groot swats him away and circles back towards the center.
De Groot throws a head kick that Vachon semi-blocks.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lars De Groot comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
