The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lilburne lands with a nice body kick.

Luffy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lilburne can pounce on him.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Luffy crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lilburne - the referee stops the clock and Luffy gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lilburne. Luffy manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lilburne lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Luffy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Luffy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Luffy is looking to take a break and control but Lilburne is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round but John Lilburne did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
