PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Taavi Liisteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Turo Naulakallo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liisteri comes into the arena with Solid Base - I like it blaring out of the sound system. Naulakallo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Tech N9ne: Riot Maker. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liisteri looks for a takedown but Naulakallo sprawls well.

Naulakallo has his foot on Liisteri's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Liisteri works his way back into a safe position though.

Naulakallo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Liisteri is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Naulakallo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Liisteri's back instead.

Liisteri is in a bad position with Naulakallo working for a choke. Liisteri manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Naulakallo wants to stand but Liisteri is controlling the position.

Naulakallo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Liisteri stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Naulakallo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Liisteri has gone for a leg lock! Naulakallo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Liisteri's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Naulakallo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Liisteri has time to react.
Liisteri fails with an attempt to clinch.
Naulakallo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Liisteri gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Naulakallo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Liisteri just stands there and leans against the cage.

Liisteri has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Naulakallo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Naulakallo is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Liisteri gets his way!
Liisteri is trying to stick to Naulakallo's back but Naulakallo is turning into Liisteri. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Liisteri's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Naulakallo.

Liisteri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Naulakallo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Liisteri is tightening it up a little... Naulakallo has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Naulakallo reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Naulakallo taps out! nice BJJ there by Liisteri!
