Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dante Widowmaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hala Alen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Widowmaker fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Widowmaker wants to clinch up but Alen keeps it at a distance.

Widowmaker shoots for a takedown but Alen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dante Widowmaker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Widowmaker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alen is fending him off so far but Widowmaker persists. Nope, Alen circles away and we're back to standing.
Alen throws a body punch but Widowmaker moves out of range.
Widowmaker shoots in looking for a takedown. Alen tries to sprawl out of it but Widowmaker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Alen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
