Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Giorgio Jacques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodolpho Vasquel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasquel has chosen Surviving the Times as his entrance music. Rodolpho Vasquel told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacques needs to keep his hands up - Vasquel had a free shot at his head there.

Vasquel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jacques.

Jacques is looking to wear down Vasquel with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Jacques misses with a takedown attempt - Vasquel sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vasquel takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Jacques shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vasquel's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Vasquel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jacques wants to get back to full guard.
Vasquel is keen to just control but Jacques is a slippery customer.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Vasquel is looking for a kimura but Jacques is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vasquel to get the leverage.

That was a close round but I would say that Giorgio Jacques will probably get the nod.
