The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hanson throws and elbow that misses. Harris uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hanson's guard. Nice move by Harris!
Hanson pulls Harris in close to prevent any damage.
Harris lands a couple of digs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Harris accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hanson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hanson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hanson throws a shot from downtown. Harris moves away and avoids it.
Harris will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hanson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Harris is looking to chop away at Hanson's legs.

and Harris counters with a head kick. That will keep Hanson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Harris makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hanson really felt that one!
Harris displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hanson throws out the jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Harris lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hanson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hanson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
