PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommi Turmiola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Kingsley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turmiola comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica: Enter Sandman. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingsley fails with the takedown

and Turmiola counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kingsley wants to stand back up but Turmiola manages to pass into side control.

Turmiola stands up.
Turmiola buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Turmiola moves into the clinch successfully.

and Turmiola finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Turmiola shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Turmiola was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turmiola wants to control the pace but Kingsley is squirming around nicely.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turmiola unloads with some shots from mount but Kingsley bucks and avoids them well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kingsley can do anything to dispel that myth.

Turmiola has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turmiola lands a big shot there that rocks Kingsley but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Turmiola closes the distance looking for a takedown. Kingsley stuffs it but Turmiola still has hold of him. Turmiola picks Kingsley up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Turmiola slams Kingsley to the floor and that's really hurt Kingsley - he doesn't know where he is! Turmiola throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
