Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike MacDonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kirk Sherk!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacDonald moves in looking to clinch but Sherk pushes him off.
MacDonald tries to clinch up but Sherk circles away and keeps his distance.
MacDonald scores with a head kick.

MacDonald has Sherk up against the cage in a clinch.
MacDonald crunches a lovely knee into Sherk's ribcage.
MacDonald lands a damaging elbow.
MacDonald lands an elbow that stopped Sherk in his tracks for a moment.

Sherk tries to circle away but MacDonald has him pinned against the cage.

MacDonald is pressed up against the cage. Sherk has hold of a leg and is looking to drag MacDonald down to the mat. MacDonald avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Mike MacDonald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kirk Sherk.

No joy there for Sherk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sherk wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but MacDonald has him pressed against the cage.

Sherk is trying to push MacDonald away but MacDonald has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Sherk jumps guard and drags MacDonald to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Sherk is trying to control the position but MacDonald postures up.
MacDonald has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sherk is proving hard to escape from.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sherk can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sherk controls MacDonald momentarily but MacDonald frees himself.
MacDonald would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
MacDonald is looking to advance position but Sherk has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
MacDonald is desperately trying to improve his position but Sherk has a good base and remains in mount.
Sherk misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
MacDonald is squirming around, avoiding Sherk's attempts to control the action.

Sherk jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… MacDonald is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by MacDonald and Sherk has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Sherk stands up and beckons MacDonald to his feet.
MacDonald moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
MacDonald thuds his shin into the meat of Sherk's side.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mike MacDonald dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


MacDonald tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Sherk counters with a stiff right hand.
Sherk throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on MacDonald's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Sherk dives in looking to finish as MacDonald flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Sherk's strikes! Sherk is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! MacDonald's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but MacDonald was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kirk Sherk!
