Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hippity Hop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Samuelsson!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Samuelsson moves into the clinch.
Samuelsson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hop smiles and moves away.
Hop throws a series of punches but Samuelsson moves out of range.
Hop swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Samuelsson to counter with a crisp jab.


It looks like Hippity Hop has been cut.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Samuelsson.
Samuelsson looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hop is avoiding damage well.
Samuelsson prevents Hop from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Samuelsson controlling the position from side mount.
Samuelsson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Samuelsson working the ground and pound but Hop is defending the strikes.
Samuelsson wants to control but Hop is keeping him busy.
Samuelsson just content to control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Samuelsson advances nicely into full mount.

It looks like Samuelsson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Hop is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Samuelsson controlling the position easily from mount.
Samuelsson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hop is looking to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
BOOM! Samuelsson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Samuelsson can't control as he wanted to and Hop manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Samuelsson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Samuelsson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hop keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Samuelsson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hippity Hop's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Samuelsson throws a series of punches but Hop avoids them all with ease.
No joy there for Samuelsson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hop scores with a decent looking hook.
Hop dodges the punch combination from Samuelsson.
Hop throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Samuelsson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Hop breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Samuelsson misses with an uppercut.
Samuelsson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Hop connects with a single shot there.


It looks like Shane Samuelsson has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Samuelsson tries to clinch up but Hop circles away and keeps his distance.
Samuelsson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hop.

Hop cracks Samuelsson with a big right hand and Samuelsson goes down!


Samuelsson is rocked!
Samuelsson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hop stands up from Samuelsson's guard - Hop perhaps looking for a knockout.
Hop falls off balance throwing a combination

and Samuelsson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Samuelsson trying to control from Hop's half guard. Hop has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Samuelsson wants to pass the guard but Hop is keeping the position.
Samuelsson throws a strike but Hop rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Samuelsson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Samuelsson is adopting a defensive guard.

Samuelsson working for a triangle but Hop defends it easily.
Hop wants to get up but he can't break Samuelsson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Samuelsson working for submissions but it's allowed Hop to get to half guard.
Hop tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Samuelsson.

Hop stands up from half guard.
Hop misses with the combination.

Samuelsson closes the distance and clinches.
A frustrated look appears on Hop's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Samuelsson lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hop backwards.
Samuelsson jumps guard but Hop stands there with Samuelsson around his waist. Samuelsson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hop breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hippity Hop is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hop misses with a double jab

and Samuelsson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hop's guard now.
Samuelsson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Samuelsson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Samuelsson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Samuelsson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Samuelsson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Samuelsson landing some decent shots from guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Samuelsson stays in close to Hop's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Shane Samuelsson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Samuelsson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Samuelsson ducks under a wild hook from Hop.
Hop cracks Samuelsson with an open hand slap.
Hop looks to land a combination but Samuelsson avoids it well.
Samuelsson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hop is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Hop misses with a double jab.

Samuelsson scores with a takedown into Hop's guard.
Samuelsson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Samuelsson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Samuelsson looking to sit in guard and control but Hop gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hop stopping the sweep attempt from Samuelsson.
Hippity Hop has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Samuelsson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hop's guard.
Samuelsson controls from within his opponent's guard.
Samuelsson passes Hop's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Shane Samuelsson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Shane Samuelsson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shane Samuelsson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Samuelsson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
