Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abel Stamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abel Stamp will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jesus Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Abel Stamp!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stamp avoids the body shot from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Gonzalez is looking to clinch.
Gonzalez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stamp manages to avoid it.
Stamp misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stamp moves in looking to clinch but Gonzalez pushes him off.

Gonzalez tries to sprawl but Stamp drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Stamp is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Stamp prevents Gonzalez from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stamp trying to mount his opponent but Gonzalez defends it.
Gonzalez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gonzalez is trying to maintain the position but Stamp is very close to passing his half guard.
Stamp is pressing down on Gonzalez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gonzalez is holding on for now.
Stamp seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Stamp is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gonzalez is just riding it out for now. Stamp eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stamp is looking for a kimura but Gonzalez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stamp to get the leverage.

Stamp is trying to work for a kimura but Gonzalez is defending well.

Gonzalez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gonzalez tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gonzalez is trying to maintain the position but Stamp is very close to passing his half guard.

Stamp is looking to take a break and control but Gonzalez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Stamp clinches up with Gonzalez and pushes him back against the cage.

Stamp manages to break the clinch.
Stamp takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A head kick misses from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez thows a body shot but no joy.
Stamp shoots in but Gonzalez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Stamp throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gonzalez on the side of the head.
Jesus Gonzalez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stamp shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gonzalez sprawls well. Gonzalez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stamp gets slowly back to his feet.
Stamp moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Stamp. Those never looked like landing.
Gonzalez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Stamp uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gonzalez.

and Stamp counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Stamp.
Gonzalez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stamp is one step ahead there.
Stamp wants to control from the top but Gonzalez keeps moving.
Gonzalez pulls Stamp in close to his closed guard and prevents Stamp from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Stamp takes one to the chin there.
Stamp shoots and misses
and Gonzalez counters with a nice uppercut.
Jesus Gonzalez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abel Stamp.

Stamp fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Stamp tries to clinch but Gonzalez moves out of range.

Stamp scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Gonzalez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stamp's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stamp's back!
Stamp is trying to break free.
Stamp trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gonzalez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Gonzalez is trying to stick to Stamp's back but Stamp is turning into Gonzalez. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gonzalez's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Stamp.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abel Stamp dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gonzalez, as that shot connected.
A head kick from Gonzalez lands but Stamp takes it in his stride.
Abel Stamp is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gonzalez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stamp.

Gonzalez is looking for a sweep. Stamp is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gonzalez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stamp is working away from the top position though.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Stamp seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gonzalez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Stamp has hold of Gonzalez's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gonzalez tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Stamp cranks the arm and Gonzalez screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gonzalez, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Abel Stamp!
