Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mad Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reid's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Don't Save Us From The Flames. Emelianenko has chosen Казачья - Ой т& as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mad Reid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko !
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko has his takedown stuffed
and Reid connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Emelianenko misses with a takedown
and Emelianenko takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Emelianenko closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reid to the mat! Reid manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Reid looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Emelianenko puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Emelianenko moves into full mount! Reid won't be happy about that!
Reid really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Emelianenko avoids the attempt from Reid to control.
Reid is bucking up trying to escape but Emelianenko cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Reid is in all sorts of trouble here.
Emelianenko lands with some strikes.
Emelianenko prevents Reid from getting the reversal.
Emelianenko wants to control the pace but Reid is squirming around nicely.

Emelianenko thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Reid is looking to improve his position but Emelianenko isn't that keen on the idea.

Emelianenko throwing strikes here but Reid is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Reid is desperately trying to improve his position but Emelianenko has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!


Emelianenko shoots for a takedown but Reid saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Reid misses with a jab to the body
and Emelianenko counters with a three punch combo that has Reid backing up. Reid nods at Emelianenko to acknowledge the strikes.

Emelianenko shoots in and bounces Reid off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Reid knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Emelianenko on the ground.
Reid is trying to control the position but Emelianenko postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Emelianenko controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Reid is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mad Reid is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reid looks to score with a jab to the body but Emelianenko is just out of range.
Reid throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Reid leaves Emelianenko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mad Reid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Emelianenko .

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reid stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reid wants it to stay on the feet.
Emelianenko shoots and misses
and Reid counters with a nice uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Emelianenko shoots in for a double leg but Reid sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Reid misses with a body shot.
Emelianenko fails with the takedown

and Reid counters with a crisp one two that drops Emelianenko ! Reid thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Emelianenko to his feet! Emelianenko is in big trouble!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mad Reid dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Reid swings widly with a right hand

and Emelianenko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Reid looking for a sweep. Not yet Reid, not yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reid is on top in guard.
Emelianenko has a closed guard, preventing Reid from standing up.
Emelianenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Emelianenko is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Reid seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Reid stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Emelianenko to get to his feet.

A looping hook to the body misses from Reid. Emelianenko does a little dance to reset his feet.

Reid misses with a jab to the body

so Emelianenko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Reid looking to hit a scissor sweep but Emelianenko is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reid working a defensive guard but Emelianenko passes into half guard.
Fedor Emelianenko has got the better of the ground game so far.
Emelianenko missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Reid is controlling Emelianenko 's position as best he can from this difficult position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reid is not content to let Emelianenko control the position.
Reid is trying is best to control the position here.
Reid's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Emelianenko wants to take a breather but Reid is having none of it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fedor Emelianenko wasn't active enough on the ground.
Reid waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Emelianenko .

And that's the end of the fight!
Fedor Emelianenko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Emelianenko has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
