The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salek is looking to slow Smith down with leg kicks.
Salek looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Oooooh!!! Smith has knocked Salek down with a huge combo! Smith steps away and waves a wobbly Salek back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Smith darts in trying to clinch

and Salek counters by clinching up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith pushes Salek back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Smith works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Smith scores with a shot to the side of Salek's head.
Salek's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Smith works on Salek's body with a couple of short punches.
Smith's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Smith scores with a hook to the body.
Smith lands a knee to the body.
Smith lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Salek on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Smith lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Salek backwards.
A right hand to the body from Smith.
Smith presses Salek against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Smith dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Smith connects with a knee to the head.

Salek is rocked!
Smith creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Salek with a big uppercut! Salek tries to clinch up but Smith pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Salek to the mat! Salek covers up and Smith unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
