The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuukeri doesn't succeed with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Kuukeri darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Achterkamp is trying to maintain the position but Kuukeri is very close to passing his half guard.
Kuukeri working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kuukeri is trying to work for a kimura but Achterkamp is defending well.
Kuukeri is nestled in close to Achterkamp, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kuukeri is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
