Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerpe Purge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor The Vitor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Purge fails with the takedown

and The Vitor decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Purge's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if The Vitor can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jerpe Purge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Purge gets a clinch.
The Vitor is trying to drag Purge to the mat but Purge just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Purge jumps guard but The Vitor stands there with Purge around his waist. Purge gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Purge tries to circle away but The Vitor has him pinned against the cage.

Purge jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as The Vitor walks away with a smile on his face. Purge gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Purge is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in The Vitor's half guard.

Purge throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

The Vitor closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Purge quickly recovers to half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Purge is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. The Vitor doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Purge.

The Vitor is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Purge can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The Vitor won't let Purge get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Purge is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Vitor lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
