The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Holcomb.

It looks like Gunrak Ironshield has been cut.
Ironshield fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Holcomb lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Ironshield sprawling to the canvas. Holcomb follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Ironshield hang on?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Ironshield is refusing to be controlled, as Holcomb sits in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Holcomb is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Holcomb drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Holcomb jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Holcomb not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Ironshield seems to have recovered his senses.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ironshield can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ironshield is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Holcomb has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ironshield pushes Holcomb away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Holcomb gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Ironshield slips a jab from Holcomb.
Holcomb misses with a right hand

and Ironshield counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ironshield is fighting to break Holcomb's control of his arms but Holcomb is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Holcomb wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ironshield is now in half guard.

Holcomb tries to roll over but Ironshield keeps him under control.
Ironshield is taking a breather. Holcomb says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Holcomb throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

No joy there for Ironshield, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Holcomb moves into range and connects with a jab.
Holcomb moves out of range as Ironshield strikes.

Holcomb drops Ironshield with a right and a left! Holcomb comes rushing in but Ironshield regains his composure and manages to keep Holcomb in guard.

Holcomb throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ironshield works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ironshield wants to stand but Holcomb is controlling the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Harvey Holcomb overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ironshield is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Holcomb trying to control the position from guard on top but Ironshield is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ironshield wants to stand but Holcomb is controlling the position.
Holcomb wants to control from the top but Ironshield keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Holcomb controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Harvey Holcomb wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Ironshield throws a series of punches but Holcomb avoids them all with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Harvey Holcomb will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Holcomb's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Ironshield ducks under a wild hook from Holcomb.

Ironshield shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Holcomb pinned against the cage. Holcomb gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Holcomb lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ironshield circles away quickly and effectively.
The fighters circle momentarily. Holcomb darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Ironshield throws a looping overhand right but Holcomb ducks down to avoid it.

Ironshield throws a combination that misses
and Holcomb counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Holcomb misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Holcomb lands a head shot.

Ironshield tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Holcomb here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Ironshield shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Holcomb defends it nicely.
Ironshield takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Ironshield takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Holcomb cracks Ironshield with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Ironshield tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Holcomb pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Ironshield is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
