The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zappatista misses with a head kick.
Hammerson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Zappatista has time to react.
Hammerson cracks Zappatista with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Zappatista counters with a leg kick.
Hammerson checks a low kick from Zappatista.
Zappatista throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Hammerson counters with a shoot takedown. Zappatista fights it but they end up in guard.

Zappatista working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hammerson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hammerson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hammerson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Zappatista is trying to control the position but Hammerson postures up.

Hammerson wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Zappatista's closed guard. He's half up but Zappatista has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Zappatista pivots and extends the arm, Hammerson falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Zappatista! Well done that man!
