Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Zanelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Norton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexandre Zanelli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Norton!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norton throws an off balance right hand

and Zanelli counters with a takedown into side control.
Zanelli throwing shots but missing, from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norton is not content to let Zanelli control the position.
Norton is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Zanelli is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zanelli is trying to get an arm triangle but Norton is defending well.
Zanelli wants to control but Norton is keeping him busy.
Norton pushes Zanelli away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Zanelli gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Norton is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Zanelli scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Norton to see if he's OK.
Zanelli wants to lay and pray for a moment but Norton keeps working.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Norton can do anything to dispel that myth.

Zanelli decides to stand back up. Zanelli steps back and let's Norton get back to his feet.
Zanelli throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Scott Norton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Norton slaps away a takedown attempt from Zanelli, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A punch combination from Zanelli misses.
Norton cracks Zanelli with a right hand to the side of the head.
Zanelli throws a series of punches but Norton moves out of range.
Zanelli gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Norton counters with a nice low kick that buckles Zanelli's knee momentarily.

and Norton counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexandre Zanelli. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zanelli is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Norton fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Zanelli.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Norton lands a big head kick that sends Zanelli tumbling to the mat! Norton takes a step backwards and waves Zanelli back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Zanelli is rocked!
Norton shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Zanelli takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Norton sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Zanelli bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
