The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costaleda misses with a double jab

and God of Thunder counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
God of Thunder wants to control from the top but Costaleda keeps moving.
God of Thunder forces his way into half guard.
Costaleda is pressing down on God of Thunder's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Costaleda is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and God of Thunder defends well.

Costaleda doesn't have the hooks in and God of Thunder manages to turn into his guard.

Costaleda escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. God of Thunder gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
God of Thunder wants to control from the top but Costaleda keeps moving.

Costaleda throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! God of Thunder escapes and throws Costaleda's legs to the side, diving into side control!

God of Thunder works to advance to full mount. Costaleda defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
God of Thunder takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
