Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leo Totsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mad Max!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Totsky looks to score with a jab to the body but Max is just out of range.
Totsky lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Max circles away quickly and effectively.
Max avoids the body shot from Totsky.
Max tries to clinch but Totsky moves away
and Totsky counters with a right hand to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Max feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Totsky is really struggling to control Max but he's trying to hold on to the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Leo Totsky wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
No joy there for Totsky, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Max fails with the takedown
and Totsky counters with a straight right hand.
Totsky scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Max slips a jab and a cross from Totsky.
Max shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Totsky counter with a right hand.
Max avoids a punch combination nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Totsky will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Max closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Totsky prevents Max from moving into mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leo Totsky dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Max shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Totsky counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Totsky scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Leo Totsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Totsky circles away from the clinch attempt.
Totsky cracks Max with a good jab.

Totsky lands a nice hook to Max's body. Max takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Totsky counters with a stiff right hand.
Max gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Totsky counters with a left to the body.
Leo Totsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mad Max.

Totsky throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Max tries for a takedown but Totsky circles away easily
and Totsky counters with a nice body shot.

Totsky misses with a few strikes there.
Totsky swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Max takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Totsky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Max.

Totsky throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Max counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Totsky trying to control the position.
Totsky looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Leo Totsky just wasn't active enough.
Max misses with a takedown
and Totsky counters with a right hand to the body.

and Totsky counters with a three punch combo that has Max backing up. Max nods at Totsky to acknowledge the strikes.

Totsky thows a body shot but no joy.

Max dodges the punch combination from Totsky.
Totsky is looking to wear down Max with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Totsky throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Max doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Totsky counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Max thinking.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Totsky scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Max doesn't seem bothered though.
Max slips a jab and a cross from Totsky.
Leo Totsky is winning the standup battle so far.

and Totsky counters with a right hand to the body.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Totsky, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
