Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Doors - Peace Frog. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Walker!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Donnie Darko!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker rushes Darko and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Darko is trying to force a seperation but Walker has the dominant position.
Walker throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Walker lands a nice shot to the body.
Walker blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
A knee to the head by Walker.
Walker scores with a shot to the side of Darko's head.
Walker gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Walker throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Darko blocks it with crossed arms.
Walker is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Walker is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Darko can't fight it off and eventually Walker manages to take the fight to the floor. Darko looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walker is pushing down on Darko's leg trying to pass to half guard. Darko is fighting to maintain full guard but Walker has managed to sneak the leg through.

Walker stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Walker cracks a nice hook into Darko's ribs.
Walker scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Darko doesn't seem bothered though.

and Walker counters with a low kick, right behind Darko 's knee.
Walker shoots for a takedown but Darko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A solid leg kick lands there for Walker.

Walker forces Darko back against the cage and clinches.
Walker lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Darko trying to stall but Walker improves his position.
Darko takes an elbow to the forehead.
Walker gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Walker works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Darko keeps working.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Walker.

and Walker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Walker scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Walker is looking to wear down Darko with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Walker lands a jab-cross combination.
Darko tries to move into range but Walker moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Darko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Walker.
Darko thows a leg kick but Walker checks it
and Walker counters with a good low kick that Darko was not able to check.

and Darko counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Darko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Walker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Darko has managed to get both his arms back between Walker's legs - danger averted.

Darko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Darko stands and throws Walker's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The strikes coming from Darko are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Darko postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Darko distracts Walker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walker is on top in guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walker slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Walker trying to control but Darko is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jack Walker wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Darko moves out of range of the strikes.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Walker will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


The fighters circle momentarily. Walker darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Walker thuds a left hand into Darko's body.
Walker misses with a two punch combination.
Walker throws a series of punches but Darko avoids them all with ease.
Darko tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Walker counters with a right hand to the body.
Darko takes one to the chin there.
Walker throws a body punch but Darko moves out of range.
Walker cracks Darko with a good jab.
Darko misses with a head kick.
Darko swats away the attempt to clinch by Walker.
Walker comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
An inside leg kick lands from Walker.
Darko takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Darko is looking to clinch but Walker is avoiding it.
Walker connects with a good right hand that stumbles Darko. Darko circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Walker is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Darko takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Walker lands a head shot.
Walker lands an overhand right.
Walker tries a head kick but it misses.
Walker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Darko can do to turn this around?

Walker is pulling down on Darko's head. It's preventing any offense from Darko, at least for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Darko passes Walker's left leg - he's now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Walker slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Darko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Walker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Darko has Walker in his guard.

Walker passes into half guard.
Walker wants to control but Darko is keeping him busy.
Donnie Darko has got the better of the ground game so far.
Walker is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Walker trying to control but Darko is having none of it.
Darko tries to lock up and control but Walker gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Walker working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Darko wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Walker.
Walker throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Walker can't control as he wanted to and Darko manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Darko is looking for a sweep. Walker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Darko is looking to regain half guard here but Walker keeps moving and retains side control.

Walker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Darko is not content to let Walker control the position.
Darko is looking to reverse the position.

Darko takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Walker's jab looks to have found its range, popping Darko under the eye.
Darko is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

Well Walker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
