The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoffman swats away the attempt to clinch by Westcott.
Westcott misses with a head kick.
Westcott lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Ryan Hoffman has been cut.
Westcott wants to clinch.
Westcott throws a right hand that Hoffman ducks under and follows up with a left that Hoffman also avoids with ease.

Oooooh!!! Westcott has knocked Hoffman down with a huge combo! Westcott steps away and waves a wobbly Hoffman back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Hoffman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Westcott tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hoffman swivels and escapes.
Hoffman seems to have got his legs back now.
Billy Westcott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hoffman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Westcott quickly recovers to half guard.
Hoffman thows a huge punch but Westcott dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hoffman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Westcott is just riding it out for now. Hoffman eventually gives up the hold.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hoffman lands a nice short elbow.
Westcott is not content to let Hoffman control the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hoffman wants to work for an arm triangle but Westcott is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hoffman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hoffman is keen to just control but Westcott is a slippery customer.

Hoffman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Westcott's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoffman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hoffman loads up on a big left hand. Westcott felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Hoffman looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Westcott can't hide his disappointment, as Hoffman celebrates the victory.
