PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Mickele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Here i go again. Michael Mickele is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vitor Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Michael Mickele!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mickele gets a clinch.

Mickele pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A jab from Mickele does it's job there.
Mickele misses with a body shot.
Silva takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mickele tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mickele to the ground. Mickele escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva shoots and misses
and Mickele makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Mickele throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mickele punishes Silva's body with a nice straight punch.
Mickele scores with a jab. Silva acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Silva tries for a takedown but Mickele circles away easily
letting Mickele counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mickele scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mickele lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mickele cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Silva walks straight into a right hand from Mickele - that's dropped him! Mickele jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Silva from any more punishment! Silva complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
