PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bane Bat Breaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seoi Nage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Nage's choice of entrance music: Warriors Dance. Seoi Nage told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bat Breaker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nage showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bat Breaker.
Bat Breaker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nage as he jumps to the side.

Bat Breaker moves into range and clinches up with Nage.
Bat Breaker is looking to break free of the clinch but Nage has double underhooks.
Nage gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bat Breaker.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bane Bat Breaker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bat Breaker lands with a light punch inside.
Bat Breaker lands with a short shot to the head.
Bat Breaker prevents Nage from breaking the clinch.
Nage throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bat Breaker blocks it with crossed arms.

Bat Breaker lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Nage regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bat Breaker lands a couple of elbows.
Nage wants to stand up but Bat Breaker is controlling him.
Nage will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nage shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Nage throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bat Breaker's head.
Nage throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Bat Breaker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nage trying to stall but Bat Breaker improves his position.
Bat Breaker lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Bat Breaker is breathing heavily.
Bat Breaker can't break the clinch.
Bat Breaker lands a right hand that snaps the head of Nage backwards.
Nage landing knees to the head.

Nage escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bat Breaker tries to clinch but Nage is having none of it.
Bat Breaker clobbers Nage with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Bat Breaker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nage lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Nage slips under a jab from Bat Breaker.
Nage plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Nage shoots in for a takedown but Bat Breaker shows good takedown defense.

Bat Breaker has a closed guard, preventing Nage from standing up.
Bat Breaker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Nage trying to control the position from guard on top but Bat Breaker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bat Breaker thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bat Breaker waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Nage. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Nage to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Nage is rocked!

It looks like Seoi Nage has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Bat Breaker stands and steps away. Nage gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bat Breaker looks to land a combination but Nage avoids it well.
Bane Bat Breaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bat Breaker throws an overhand right that has Nage reeling! Bat Breaker follows up with a more punches and Nage is out cold! This one is all over!
