Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Sibelius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Opas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Opas has chosen AC/DC - Thunderstruck as his entrance music. Don Opas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jean Sibelius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Don Opas!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Opas works the jab nicely.
Sibelius punishes Opas's body with a nice straight punch.

Sibelius displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Opas.

Opas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sibelius.

Sibelius shoots in but Opas avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sibelius throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A punch combination from Opas misses.
Opas misses with an uppercut. Sibelius saw that one coming.
Opas throws a series of strikes that have Sibelius backpedaling.
Opas tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Don Opas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sibelius uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Opas.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Sibelius counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Sibelius cracks Opas with an open hand slap.

Opas does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Opas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sibelius moves away.
Opas wants to land a leg kick but Sibelius is out of range.

Sibelius is looking to wear down Opas with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Opas connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Sibelius changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Opas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close round but I would say that Jean Sibelius will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Opas throws out a loose jab but Sibelius uses good head movement to avoid it.
Opas throws a leg kick but Sibelius checks it.
Opas thows a body shot but no joy.
Opas pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Opas feints and then cracks Sibelius's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sibelius down.

and Sibelius counters with a three punch combo that has Opas backing up. Opas nods at Sibelius to acknowledge the strikes.

Sibelius closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sibelius lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Opas avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sibelius.

Opas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sibelius is working away from the top position though.

Sibelius seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Opas lunges at Sibelius with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sibelius's hand.

Opas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sibelius at a distance.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Opas lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sibelius has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sibelius and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Opas throws a hook to the side of Sibelius's head but Sibelius sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Opas throws a combination. Sibelius tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Opas will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
