Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jarvis Messam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armen Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Messam comes to the cage accompanied by Boombastic by Shaggy. Armen Hammer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messam avoids the head kick by Hammer.

Messam throws a looping overhand right but Hammer ducks down to avoid it.

Messam drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Messam drops back looking for a leg! Hammer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hammer manages to kick Messam off! Messam jumps back into Hammer's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hammer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Messam throwing strikes here but Hammer is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Hammer's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Messam goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hammer turns into him and now he's in Messam's guard.

Messam closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Messam shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hammer's guard.

Messam manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hammer on his heels. He'll look to pass Hammer's guard now, I'm sure.

Messam drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Messam seems to have locked his on tight now - Hammer screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Messam, as he picks up the win!
