Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antti Timonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Timonen connects with a single shot there.

It looks like Alex Silva has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Timonen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Timonen takes a kick to the side of the head.
Silva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Timonen.
Timonen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Silva misses with a two punch combination.
Silva scores with a kick to the body.

Silva takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Silva works over Timonen's head and body with a nice combination.
Timonen moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Timonen takes a knee right on the jaw!
Timonen jumps guard but Silva stands there with Timonen around his waist. Timonen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Silva looks gassed!
Timonen lands a couple of digs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Timonen passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Timonen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Timonen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Timonen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Timonen cracks Silva with a big elbow.
Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva prevents Timonen from moving into mount.

Timonen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silva is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Timonen working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Timonen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Silva has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Timonen but great work by Silva.

Timonen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Timonen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!

Timonen is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Silva with him. Silva is trying to defend but Timonen has an arm under the chin now! Silva grimaces and is forced to tap out!
