Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Guilherme Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn MacArthur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes into the arena with Guerreiro by Curumin blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MacArthur postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Alves is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of MacArthur, into his guard.

Alves got a little sloppy there for a moment and MacArthur has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alves has managed to get both his arms back between MacArthur's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

MacArthur is trying to trip Alves. He has hold of a leg but Alves is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. MacArthur persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Guilherme Alves will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Guilherme Alves.
