Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Dandley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evander Roy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Dandley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Evander Roy!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roy closes the distance but Dandley moves to the side

and Dandley counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Roy controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Dandley is looking to take a break and control but Roy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dandley wants to free his trapped foot but Roy is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Roy is refusing to be controlled, as Dandley sits in half guard.
Dandley content to control rather than advance.
Dandley not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Roy is trying to get back to full guard.
Dandley is looking to take a break and control but Roy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roger Dandley.
Nice takedown defense from Roy. No joy for Dandley on that attempt.
Roy wants to clinch

and Dandley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Roy is on top in guard.
Roy wants to control from the top but Dandley keeps moving.

Dandley manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Dandley goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Roy turns into him and now he's in Dandley's guard.
Roy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Dandley wants to sweep here but Roy controlling him for the moment.
Roy tries to stand but Dandley is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dandley pulls Roy in close to his closed guard and prevents Roy from doing any damage or advancing position.
Dandley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Roy is one step ahead there.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roger Dandley.

Roy lands a big head kick that sends Dandley tumbling to the mat! Roy takes a step backwards and waves Dandley back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Roger Dandley has been cut.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Roy tries to clinch but Dandley moves out of range.
Dandley shoots for a takedown but Roy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Roger Dandley will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Dandley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Roy's guard.
Roy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dandley puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Roy tries to get to full guard but Dandley has control of the leg.
Dandley wants to take a breather but Roy is having none of it.

Roy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dandley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Roy is not content to let Dandley control the position.

Dandley seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Dandley wants to pass the guard but Roy is defending well.

Dandley is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Roy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Roy is trying to control but can't.

Dandley is trying to work for a kimura but Roy is defending well.
Dandley is trying to control. Roy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Dandley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Roy sees it coming and defends easily.
Dandley tries to pass the half guard into mount. Roy knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dandley passes to full mount!

Roy is squirming around, avoiding Dandley's attempts to control the action.
Roy is working to get back to half guard.
Roger Dandley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dandley with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Dandley is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Roy is surviving well by controlling Dandley's body position as best he can.

Roy closes the distance and clinches.
Dandley drops down looking for an ankle pick but Roy pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dandley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Roy circles away.
Roy moves to clinch but Dandley breaks away

and Dandley counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Roy looking to control.

Dandley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Roy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dandley has Roy in his guard.
Roy advances position into side control!

Roy in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Roy wants to stand but Dandley has his arm trapped.
Dandley struggling a bit here.
Roy happy to just control the position for now.
Roy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dandley keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Evander Roy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Roy moves into the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Roy takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Dandley changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Roy fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Dandley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Roy tries to bum rush Dandley with a series of wild strikes but Dandley uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Dandley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dandley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dandley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
