The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith is looking to clinch.
Smith wants to clinch but DeSouza slips to the side
and DeSouza counters with a one-two to the body.
DeSouza shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.
DeSouza connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Smith's hands.
Smith tries to clinch but DeSouza moves out of range.

and DeSouza makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
DeSouza lands an overhand right.
Smith tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
DeSouza avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but DeSouza paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and DeSouza counters with a left and a right that stings Smith.
Smith takes one on the button.
The fighters circling - DeSouza throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smith slips a straight right by DeSouza.
Nice straight punches there by DeSouza. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of DeSouza.

Smith is rocked!
Smith tries to clinch but fails miserably
and DeSouza counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
DeSouza misses with a hook. Smith ducked under it nicely.
Smith seems to have got his legs back now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
DeSouza pounces like a tiger and cracks Smith with a vicious hook! Smith is down but not out! DeSouza follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
