PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juha Suttu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suttu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ultimate. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Donnie Darko was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Darko.
Suttu closes the distance looking to clinch
and Darko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Suttu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Darko is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Suttu thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Darko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Suttu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Darko is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Suttu has hold of Darko's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Darko manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Darko is still in real trouble! Can Suttu finish him?

Darko is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Suttu cracks Darko with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Darko is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Suttu lands a heavy elbow.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee warns Darko that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Suttu shoots in for a double leg but Darko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Darko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Suttu circles away quickly and effectively.

and Darko makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Darko thuds his right hand into Suttu's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Darko is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Darko throws a series of punches but Suttu moves out of range.
Suttu swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Darko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Darko misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Suttu.
Suttu will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Suttu is defended easily by Darko.
Suttu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Darko stuns Suttu with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Suttu takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and Darko counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Darko throws a chopping leg kick but Suttu manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donnie Darko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Darko takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Suttu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Darko pinned against the cage. Darko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Darko drops Suttu with a naaaaasty hook - Suttu is in real trouble here! Darko dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
