Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Snuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Link Gatez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snuka kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Superfly -- Curtis Mayfield and Ice T . The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snuka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gatez.

and Snuka counters with a series of strikes. Gatez will be more careful next time no doubt.
Gatez shoots in for a takedown but Snuka shows good takedown defense.

and Snuka counters with a nice leg kick.
Horrible takedown by Gatez or perhaps it was just good defense by Snuka which made him look bad.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Snuka uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gatez.
A low kick from Gatez is predictable there
and Snuka counters with a thumping low kick.
Gatez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Snuka manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Snuka stuffs the takedown attempt from Gatez. Gatez gets slowly back to his feet.
Snuka throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gatez looks to land a left hand but Snuka moved out of range nicely.
Snuka tries a low kick but Gatez avoids it.

Gatez dives in and grabs Snuka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Snuka pushes down on Gatez's head and hops out.

Snuka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gatez misses with a kick to the body.
Gatez throws out a loose jab but Snuka uses good head movement to avoid it.
Snuka moves out of range as Gatez throws a body kick.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gatez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Snuka moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gatez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
