The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khripunov tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Ricester manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Khripunov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Khripunov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Khripunov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ricester wants to stand and escape but Khripunov is having none of it.

Ricester pushes Khripunov off and gets back to his feet.
Khripunov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ricester swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Khripunov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ricester quickly recovers to half guard.
