Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Truth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pearson is defended easily by Truth.
Truth wants to clinch but Pearson slips to the side

and Pearson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pearson.
Pearson wants to control from the top but Truth keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Truth is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pearson looking to pass the guard.
Pearson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pearson won't allow Truth to sweep him here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Pearson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Truth working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Pearson has passed into half guard!
Truth is looking to improve his position.

Truth wants to sweep but Pearson has passed to side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Pearson wants to control but Truth is keeping him busy.
Pearson lands some shots froms side control.
Pearson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Pearson gets to mount! Truth was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Pearson lands with some strikes.
Truth on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Truth tries to get out of the position.
Pearson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Truth is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pearson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Truth is breathing heavily.
Pearson cracks Truth with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pearson breaks from Truth's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Pearson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Truth hang on?
Pearson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Truth is rocked!
Pearson postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Truth in real trouble here! The ref calls for Truth to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
