The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamada lands a nice leg kick that just misses Smoot's sensitive parts.
Smoot looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yamada is fending him off so far but Smoot persists. Nope, Yamada circles away and we're back to standing.

Fred Smoot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
