Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffrey Goines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox comes to the cage accompanied by 2nd Round KO. Goines has chosen Neon Genesis Evangelion - Eva Goes Mental AMV as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeffrey Goines!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goines displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fox throws out the jab.
Goines cracks Fox with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Fox connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Goines takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fox takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Goines throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fox sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Goines uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fox.
Fox throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Goines scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Goines shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fox but Fox pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Fox misses with a head kick.
Goines misses with a looping left.

Fox misses with a takedown attempt - Goines sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Goines blocks a jab.
Fox ducks under a wild hook from Goines.
Fox throws a jab but it's blocked by Goines.

Fox uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Goines.
Justin Fox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fox sizes up Goines with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Goines rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Fox counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Goines swings away with a body shot that misses
and Fox counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fox throws a nice looking combination but Goines bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Goines thuds a left hand into Fox's body.
Goines wants to clinch.

Fox decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Goines takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Goines doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Goines misses the shot to the body.
Goines stuffs the takedown.
Goines uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fox.

Fox fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fox lands with a right hand.

Fox shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Goines is trying to defend but Fox finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Fox wants to pass the guard but Goines is defending well.
Goines manages to get to full guard.
Goines seems keen to control Fox's posture.

Fox is looking to work some ground and pound but Goines has wrist control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fox works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Goines desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Fox is working for a kimura here but Goines manages to reverse the position and he's now in Fox's guard.
Fox utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Goines stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Fox throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Goines tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fox is in Goines's guard.
Goines is trying to keep Fox in close.
Goines avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Fox trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Goines manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Goines content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jeffrey Goines wasn't active enough on the ground.
Fox on the wrong end of a nice hook.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Justin Fox dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Fox thuds a left hand into Goines's body.
Goines misses with a straight left.
Fox fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Goines manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Justin Fox is winning the standup battle so far.
Goines showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fox.
Fox misses with a body shot.

Fox throws a leg kick but Goines sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Fox tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Goines swivels and escapes.
Fox scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Fox throws a hook but Goines blocks it.
Fox misses with a hook.

Goines moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Goines closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fox circles away.
Fox lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Goines throws a lazy right hand but Fox sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Goines staying out of range there.

Fox throws a hook but Goines avoids it easily.
Fox takes a swing at Goines's ribcage but misses.
Fox sizes up Goines with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Fox fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Fox swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Fox throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fox looks to land a combination but Goines avoids it well.
Fox swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Goines counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fox thinking.
Goines uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fox.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Goines stuns Fox with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Jeffrey Goines has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fox connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Well Fox has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
