Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas comes into the arena with Muse - Knights of Cydonia blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Walker!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Walker throws a poor cross that misses
and Thomas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Walker misses with a two punch combination.

Walker leaves Thomas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Walker lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Walker lands a jab to the nose.
Thomas slips under a jab.
Thomas shoots in but no luck this time.
Jay Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Thomas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Thomas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Walker managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Thomas.

Thomas goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Walker rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Thomas's guard! Nice work there by Walker!

Walker pulls Thomas in close to his closed guard and prevents Thomas from doing any damage or advancing position.

Thomas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Walker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Walker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Walker!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thomas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryan Thomas will probably get the nod.

Walker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thomas sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walker tries to pass the half guard into mount. Thomas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Walker wants to control the pace but Thomas is squirming around nicely.

Walker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Thomas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Walker tries to score with some ground and pound. Thomas controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Walker decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Thomas slips a jab from Walker.
Walker misses with a hook. Thomas ducked under it nicely.
Thomas takes a swing at Walker's ribcage but misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walker throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Thomas counters with a takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thomas postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Thomas takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Walker swings widly with a right hand
and Thomas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Walker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thomas to the mat! Thomas manages to get full guard.
Walker with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Thomas working for a triangle but Walker defends it easily.

Thomas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Walker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Walker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Walker drops back looking for a leg! Thomas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thomas manages to kick Walker off! Walker jumps back into Thomas's guard.

Thomas has his foot on Walker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walker works his way back into a safe position though.

Thomas has momentary wrist control but Walker slips an elbow through the middle.

Walker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Walker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

I would just about give that final round to Jay Walker.
Well Walker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
