The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pesovic ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fickett moves away.
Pesovic jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Fickett lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Dejan Pesovic has been cut.
Brad Fickett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pesovic misses with an uppercut. Fickett saw that one coming.
Pesovic keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Fickett.

Fickett tries to clinch there but Pesovic circles away.

Fickett tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pesovic swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pesovic takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Fickett counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Pesovic is lucky that one didn't land flush.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pesovic enables Fickett to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pesovic manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fickett wants to pass the guard but Pesovic is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fickett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Fickett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fickett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fickett lands an elbow that stopped Pesovic in his tracks for a moment.
Pesovic tries to circle away but Fickett has him pinned against the cage.

Fickett is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pesovic is aware though and is defending well.

Fickett is looking to sinch up a triangle. Pesovic throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Fickett's body to avoid the submission. Fickett has instead reached around Pesovic's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Fickett arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
