Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Buckingham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy NoMates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckingham explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Buckingham lands with a hook. NoMates tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

NoMates tries to keep at a distance but Buckingham has taken the fight into the clinch.
Buckingham lands an elbow inside that NoMates shrugs off.
NoMates drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
NoMates fails to pull guard.
NoMates has Buckingham pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Buckingham manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Patrick Buckingham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy NoMates.
Buckingham throws an elbow but it misses.
NoMates swings away with an uppercut that misses.

NoMates manages to pull guard.

NoMates has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Buckingham can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
NoMates is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

NoMates is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Buckingham is aware though and is defending well.

NoMates manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Buckingham tries to hold on but NoMates postures up.

NoMates goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Buckingham turns into him and now he's in NoMates's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Patrick Buckingham just wasn't active enough.

Buckingham clinches up against the cage.
NoMates tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Buckingham smiles and moves away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Buckingham lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and NoMates has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from NoMates and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Patrick Buckingham.
Buckingham throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
NoMates moves away from the strike by Buckingham.

and NoMates counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Buckingham!
Buckingham is trying to reverse the position but instead NoMates has taken his back - oops!

NoMates is looking for the choke from the back position but Buckingham is controlling his hands well.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

NoMates is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Buckingham is defending well though. NoMates let's go of the attempt for now.

NoMates has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Buckingham has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Buckingham is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if NoMates gets his way!

Billy NoMates showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

NoMates postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Buckingham is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of NoMates, into his guard.

NoMates is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Buckingham's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Buckingham's back!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

NoMates on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Buckingham pushes off an throws an elbow but NoMates leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
NoMates has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Buckingham is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
NoMates drops down looking for an ankle pick but Buckingham pulls his leg out and moves away.
NoMates is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

NoMates is looking to take a break and control but Buckingham is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Buckingham tries to bench press NoMates off him but NoMates keeps the position.

NoMates swings around for an armbar but Buckingham sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into NoMates's guard.

NoMates has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Buckingham is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for NoMates.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Buckingham decides to stand up, so the ref orders NoMates to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - NoMates looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Billy NoMates comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
