Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mac Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mac Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez scores with a jab.
Hansen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hansen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lopez's guard.
Lopez is adopting a defensive guard.
Lopez controls Hansen momentarily but Hansen frees himself.
Hansen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lopez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hansen is one step ahead there.
Hansen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Hansen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hansen postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Johnny Lopez.
Hansen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Hansen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lopez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hansen is in Lopez's guard.

Lopez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hansen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Lopez.
Hansen is squirming around, avoiding Lopez's attempts to control the action.

Lopez wants to control the pace but Hansen is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lopez punching from mount but Hansen doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Lopez trying to control but Hansen is having none of it.
Lopez controlling the pace for now.

Hansen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Lopez.
Lopez throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Lopez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hansen manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Lopez content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lopez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Hansen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mac Hansen dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lopez shoots and misses
and Hansen counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Johnny Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Lopez is looking to get to half guard.
Hansen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lopez's face.
The referee warns Lopez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hansen landing strikes from the mount and Lopez is in trouble!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hansen throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Lopez because Hansen loaded up on that one.
Hansen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lopez looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hansen breaks from Lopez's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Lopez tries to hold on but Hansen pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hansen lands a big shot there that rocks Lopez but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Lopez is rocked!
A big strike lands for Hansen! That's really hurt Lopez and he's turned his back - Hansen keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Hansen jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mac Hansen!
