PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Z (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Rolling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Z comes to the cage accompanied by New York. Rolling has chosen Jose Aldo - Can´t Be Stopped as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rolling moves out of range of the body kick from Z.
Jab, jab by Z - just one landing.
Z throws a hook but Rolling avoids it easily.
Z looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rolling tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rolling on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Z tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

David Rolling has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Z ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Z no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Z doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Rolling makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Rolling drops back looking for a leg! Z is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Z manages to kick Rolling off! Rolling jumps back into Z's guard.
Rolling tries to free his leg and advance position but Z is retaining full guard.
Z is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Z has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rolling can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rolling sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Z's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jay Z.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Z, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
