Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Relic Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is "Gods Gonna Cut You Down"-Johnny Cash. Fatu has chosen Outshined as his entrance music. Jamal Thompson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fatu connects with a high kick.
Thompson throws a head kick but Fatu moves out of range.
Fatu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Thompson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fatu's waist but Fatu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thompson off to one side.
Thompson dodges the punch combination from Fatu.
Thompson misses with a combination
and Fatu counters with a head kick. That will keep Thompson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Fatu misses with a two punch combination.

Fatu dips to his left and cracks Thompson with an uppercut!

Thompson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fatu sprawls well initially but Thompson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Thompson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Fatu kicks Thompson off and gets back to his feet.

and Fatu counters with a one-two to the body.

Thompson moves out of range as Fatu strikes.

Fatu is squirming around, avoiding Thompson's attempts to control the action.

Thompson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Fatu tries to buck Thompson off but he can't manage it.
Thompson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Thompson is looking to take a break and control but Fatu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Thompson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Thompson escapes and gets back to his feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jamal Thompson will probably get the nod.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Fatu.

Thompson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fatu is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Thompson.

Relic Fatu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
