PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Makanouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Makanouchi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Inner Light by Schocking Lemon. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Makanouchi!

It looks like Mark Jenkins has been cut.
Makanouchi scores with the left hand. Jenkins knows he should have avoided that one.
Nice uppercut lands for Makanouchi. That snapped Jenkins's head back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jenkins drops back looking for a leg! Makanouchi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Makanouchi manages to kick Jenkins off! Jenkins jumps back into Makanouchi's guard.
Jenkins throws a big right hand that misses.
Jenkins is pushing down on Makanouchi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Makanouchi is fighting to maintain full guard but Jenkins has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jenkins not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Jenkins is pressing down on Makanouchi's thigh, looking to free his foot. Makanouchi is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jenkins is keen to just control but Makanouchi is a slippery customer.

Jenkins is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Makanouchi has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Makanouchi!
Jenkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Makanouchi throws a strike but Jenkins rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jenkins postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Makanouchi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jenkins, into his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jenkins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Makanouchi tries to free his leg and advance position but Jenkins is retaining full guard.

Jenkins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Makanouchi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Makanouchi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jenkins has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
