Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Louis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Grand Jacques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Louis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gilbert Grand Jacques!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Louis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Grand Jacques tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Louis is in Grand Jacques's guard.

Louis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Louis wants to control from the top but Grand Jacques keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Louis gets tackled into the cage by Grand Jacques. Grand Jacques maintains the clinch.

Grand Jacques tries to close the distance and clinch up but Louis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Louis misses with a jab, cross combination.
Louis shoots in but Grand Jacques avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Grand Jacques is looking to clinch but Louis is avoiding it.

Louis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Louis lands in his opponent's guard.

Grand Jacques can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Louis controls the pace.
Louis wants to pass the guard but Grand Jacques is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ray Louis.

Grand Jacques has hold of Louis's hands but Louis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Grand Jacques regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Louis.

Louis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Grand Jacques works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Louis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Louis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Grand Jacques to his feet.

Louis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Grand Jacques was covering up waiting for the punch and Louis finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Louis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Louis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Louis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
