The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wickson tries to roll over but Taylor keeps him under control.
Taylor not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Wickson wants to control but Taylor is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor thows a huge punch but Wickson dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taylor tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wickson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Taylor stands up and beckons Wickson to join him on the feet.

Wickson wants to clinch up but Taylor keeps it at a distance.

Taylor manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wickson on his heels. He'll look to pass Wickson's guard now, I'm sure.

Wickson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Taylor manages to pass to side control.

Taylor wants to work for an arm triangle but Wickson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Taylor misses with a head shot. Wickson uses the momentum to regain guard.
Taylor is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Taylor has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Taylor pushes down on Wickson's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Taylor lands a nice short elbow.

Taylor seems to be looking for submissions.
Taylor wants to pass the guard but Wickson is defending well.
Taylor with the ground and pound but Wickson uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Wickson wants to stand and escape but Taylor is having none of it.
Wickson is looking to stand back up but Taylor counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Wickson.
Wickson is refusing to be controlled, as Taylor sits in half guard.
Wickson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Taylor takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Taylor lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It looks like Yuvel Wickson has been cut.
Wickson throws a big shot that misses.
Wickson wants to clinch up but Taylor keeps it at a distance.
Taylor throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Wickson stumbling backwards into the cage! Wickson bounces back off the cage towards Taylor, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Taylor lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Taylor celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
